Meet the founder

My story began on a blank page.

I am Angela Heck, artist, writer, and founder of Muse Paper Co. I create journals for people finding their way back to themselves.

“Writing became the first place where I could finally slow down and breathe.”

Why I started

A quiet place to tell the truth.

During a period of severe anxiety and panic attacks, I began working with a therapist who encouraged me to journal. The page gave me a way to understand what I had been carrying for years. It helped me calm my mind, release old patterns, and reconnect with myself in a way I had not done since childhood.

Around that same time, I began creating art again. It was something I loved deeply as a child but lost as I grew older. Returning to art became another part of my healing, allowing me to express emotions that felt too heavy to speak and too complex to explain.

Every journal cover I design reflects a piece of that journey. Each one carries something of the emotion, growth, and truth of the woman I have become.

The story beneath the art

From wallflower to bloom.

I grew up learning to keep much of my inner world inside. I became a quiet observer, shaped by emotional unpredictability, the silences around me, and the feeling of blending into the background.

Motherhood brought softness and purpose. Therapy brought the breakthrough of finally facing long-buried emotions and realizing I was safe enough to heal. Art and writing gave that healing a language.

These experiences became the heart of my forthcoming memoir, The Wallflower That Bloomed, a story about finding a voice after years of feeling unseen.

An invitation

Bloom in your own time.

My hope is that these journals offer you the same kind of refuge the blank page offered me: a place to be honest without fear, to listen inward, and to discover what is ready to be expressed.

Healing does not have to be loud or dramatic. It can be slow, gentle, and deeply personal. May you feel seen here, trust your own voice, and give yourself permission to begin.
